local sources for heatsinks

I'm doing a DIY led build and have everything but the heatsink. i have check the prices online some are fair but shipping cost just as much as the heatsink if not more. heatsinksusa.com as fsir prices but on top of the $15 s/h they chagre a $5 fee. so its like $35 total. i was wanting to see if anyone has found some local eastbay sources that i can goto. it doesnt have to be a heatsink an aluminium peice i can use as a heatsink. i will be incorparating a fan into my design anyway.

also interested in local for aluminum heatsinks. i know theres some online sites that sell aluminum bars about 3mm+ for a fair price. mount heatsinks on top of aluminum bars..

Goto to a metal salvage yard. In the North Bay there is Masselli Brothers Petaluma, there will be large heatsinks that you can cut to size for your purpose, it takes a fair amount of digging but it will be worth it.
