Reeflux 12K vs Reeflux 20K

Looking for input from anyone that has tried both of these bulbs on Coralvue E ballast. I'm using LB reflectors with no actinic supplement, I would like to get a little more blue but fear losing par might be a big issue in a 30" deep tank.

Is this your personal observation or just printed numbers from the Reef Specialty site?

nikon187,
I went over to Reef Specialties site but didnt find any par values on the two bulbs, could you provide me with a link to the info? Thanks.

Does anyone else have firsthand experience with these two bulbs?

i can tell you this...the reeflux 20K is nowhere near as blue as a radium 20k..my 400W
20k reeflux looks more like a 12k bulb.

as for par, that reef specialty link is the only thing i have ever found.

I run a Coralvue Dimmable E-Ballast and have used both the Reeflux 12K and the 20K with it. I can't see a difference in PAR since I don't have a meter but the 20K is my favorite of the two in terms of appearance. The 20K is blue but very natural looking to me, not over-kill at all to me.

Thanks for the input guy's.
Ive seen the side by side comparison pic but couldnt find anything with par values. I'm very pleased with my 12K bulbs but without actinic supplementation it could stand a little more blue, not a bunch mind you, but a little. Judging by Reef Specialties advertised par rating and Jeff's personal observation on color it sounds like an ideal choice.

Interesting. Local reef shop in running 20k radiums in their HQI fixture and 250watt Reeflex and XM's side by side in the tank next next to it.

The HQI radiums are totally different and much warmer than the other two, but it's not a 'warmth' in terms of excessive yellow. The 20k Reeflux and XM's are fairly similiar, and much more actinic / monochrome.

Shows there's quite a lot of deviation in bulb types even in specific lines.
