Scratch Remover!!

Hey guys,

A friend of mine asked me if I knew of a product he could used to polish and remove a few scratches that he has on his 100g Glass tank that he just purchased.... I told him I would asked here because I didn't know what he could use. I searched on google and found a few things he could use but most had ammonia or requeried you to used water mixed with some type of ammonia.

Is there anything that he can use and not contaminated his tank?

Nothing you can do then. Glass scratches cant really be removed, maybe if they are barely visable you might be able to get something but other then that they are there to stay. You wont be able to do anything with the tank running however due to the chemicles involved in glass scratch removal.

If the tank is dry and empty i have heard clear nail polish will hide small scratches but i havent tried it myself.

He hasn't set up the tank yet but if there's nothing then I guess he will have to leave it like that

I have never done this, but it appears it can be done. If the tank is empty, no worries.

FWIW, cerium oxide will not remove anything beyond very light scratches unless you sit there for a very long time with it...very long time...
It is for polishing glass, not really for scratch removal.

I had scratches on the outside front of my tank. They seemed kinda deep so i thought I was out of luck.
I use a magfloat glass cleaner, and after using it for 9 months, just cleaning the glass, the scratch on the oustside front was "buffed" away. Might be that it is a starfire panel...I dont know but my scratch is gone!
