visiting SF, recommend stores?

Hi,
I'm planning to visit SF in a couple weeks, wondering what stores you recommend I visit?

Also planning to visit the science museum reef exhibit, hope it's a little more matured by now, last time it had very few corals and a lots of kids running around everywhere!

I recommend Aquatic Central (1963 ocean ave, 415-584-1888).

You'll have a great time at CA academy of sciences! http://www.calacademy.org/

Have a safe trip!

Academy of Sciences has an adult night every thursday starting at 6pm. You can see everything you usually see, but it's only $12 admission.

Plus, they serve cocktails, and nobody there is under the age of 21.

no kids! woo!

thanks everyone for your suggestions. Aquatic Central looks interesting per their website. I'll be in town over a Fri, Sat, Sun so can't make the Th even at the Academy of Science, though I'll probably battle it out with the kids anyway

any other LFS in town you recommend?

Since you are just wanting to look and not buy anything, I would check out Pet Central (in Chinatown) and Sixth Avenue aquarium. Both are close to tourist stuff (assuming that's the areas you will be in). I second Aquatic Central if you want a legit LFS with a really nice coral selection.

thanks, yes, I'll be staying near Union Square, so I'll check those out as well, I'm always "looking" but why is it I always seem to leave with something? lol

Well the reason I said "just looking" was because they have questionable health/living conditions and maybe not the best ethics IMO. They both do carry some strange stuff, especially if you are into freshwater.
