MP10w vs MP10 How can you tell the difference?
I just bought a used Vortech MP10 ES and I saw that there is a W right next to the "Vortech" written on it and I was wondering if this could be the wireless version? How can you tell the difference between the wireless on non-wireless version of the Vortech MP10es drivers?

The controller should have a W that lights up in the upper right hand corner if I am not mistaken. Mine does.

It has the W that lights up in the upper right hand corner but the guy who sold it to me said it was not the wireless version. All the pictures of the MP10es online seem to have that W as well so I don't know...

Then why does the Vortech website show a non-wireless MP10es and a wireless MP10es? Non-wireless MP10es is for use by itself which is why it is not equipped with wireless capability.

The W is present on both models. The difference is whether or not it actually lights up. I imagine they were produced this way for two reasons. First and foremost, lowers the cost of production. Second, the wireless chip can be purchased separately and added to the unit to make it a wireless version. If the W actually is illuminated in blue, you lucked out and probably got a sweet deal on a wireless unit.

take your controller out, look for the wireless chip, if it's not in there then it's not the ES version of the m10. Take a look at the vortech part store if you want to see wat a wireless chip looks like. Ultimately you can upgrade the ES to the W ES version by purchasing the chip for $60
