sump/refuge design question

Ok. So I already have a tank to make a sump out of. My plan is to make a sump/refuge out of the same tank. I would really rather to only have one input into the sump. In what order should I put my drain to the sump/refuge/skimmer section/return pump so as to allow my refuge to actually feed the main tank with pods? Thanks for the help.

Ideally, you should have your sump on one end, the return in the middle and the refug on the other end. It is not hard to t or y your overflow to split between the sump and fuge. One problem with running it all as one is you don't have control of flow and you want a slower flow through your fuge.

I see alot of people doing sumps this way, but I'm not sold on any benefits that outweigh simple oldschool sump design and whole lot less plumbing.
Mine works just great, drain/skimmer in first chamber, 3 baffles, fuge, baffle, return chamber.
one drain, one return line, simple and effective.
