Great stuff pond and stone
Has any one ever used the great stuff pond and stone in their tanks before? I am going to use to to cover up some pipe work and was wondering if it would be ok to just put it in the tank, rather than cure it before it goes into tank. It claims that it is fish safe but I mostly have corals and don't want a die off.

Lots of people do, you just have to make sure to accomidate the fact it floats, like ALOT.

Yeah it will be on my rockwork structure so the rocks will hold it down. Just wanna make sure that it won't leech toxins back in the tank, seeing it won't be cured

go to the store and read the directions carefully, I believe that you need to let it cure, dont remember, I used like 12 cans of it to build my rock wall, I should know. I let it air cure for two weeks before It got wet and then I used fresh water for two weeks. If at all possible use temporary plumbing until your finished peices cure in another location, then place them into position once cured?? Just a thought. Mine has been running for 5 months with no problems, but I did get rid of my urchins, and use sweetwater epoxy and sand to cover the foam. Your mileage may vary.

Mines been up for a year and change, no issues so far. I prefer it to the black stuff personally. Some of the stuff I spray foamed together for my old tank is still quite solid and sitting in my sump after 3 years.
I didn't epoxy it or anything else. Crabs nibble at it a bit.

I'm using regular old great stuff for my build as well. I do plan on a protective coating to shield the foam from UV. It cures in 8 hours according to the label. If you are worried about it, just run some carbon for a little while to bind up any chemicals. Should be chemically inert after curing though.
