I am about to set up a 75 gallon mixed reef and I am looking to purchase the following light - 48" Metal Halide ADV+ CF 760W
This MH ADV+ CF 48” is THE reefer’s light. A space saving combo unit combines 2x 250W HQI metal halide, 4x 65W Actinic Blue CF lamps, and 6x Bluemoon LED into one single unit. This unit also features external HQI controller, heavy duty cooling fan, mounting legs, and anodized aluminum housing. Individual power cords and power switches maximizes usability and timer ready!
Is this a good choice? I am relatively new to the reef community (15 months) and I am getting a little overwhelmed with all the choices out there. I just want a fixture that is both economical and sufficient to support a mixed reef tank.

250W halides are plenty in such a system. However, CF lamps are rather out of fashion.

I assume this is an eBay fixture?

If you're trying to stay economical in energy usage, perhaps a high quality (ATI) 4 bulb T5HO fixture. The 75g is fairly shallow and won't need to extra punch from a 6 bulb IMO.

Thanks for the response....what about a TEK 6 bulb light fixture, would this be ok for a mixed reef tank
