HOB for 40g breeder QT?

Any recommendations for a HOB filter for a 40g breeder for a QT?

my favorite hang on the back filter has always been aquaclear. I like the options if gives you. you could go with a 20-50gal model.http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2754143

I personally use power sponge filters in my QT. I keep a sponge in my sump and when it is time to set up a QT, it goes in the QT and a new one goes in the sump along with tank water from my DT an I end up with and established tank (well enough for the fish I in QT).
Like this or similar:

Otherwise, most of the HOB are similar the one above is good. I know people that use canisters on QTs as well.

Aquaclear are the best HOB filter out there IMO. Durable, quiet, modifiable and well designed. I would go with a 70 or a 110.

So how does the power sponge work? That seems too simple. Do you run that with a HOB?

Or do you just run the sponge and a heater? Do you also run a power head or air pump?

If this is for QT all you need is a spong or polyfill. Especially if you are going to use medications like prazipro and copper because you would not use the carbon inserts as it would interfere with he medication.
