Yellow watchman goby stripes

The stripes, which were barely noticeable at first, are now much darker. The rest of his color has stayed the same. I was wondering what this might indicate. I've done some light reading and it seems that they turn grey if they are female. Also, it could be that he is stressed?

Thanks for any info!
