AI help setting up

My USB is on back order for at least another month. I bought a AI Sol blue and want to start using it sometime soon. I will have to set it up from the controller itself because I can't hook my comp at the same time. I'm running a profilux plus II. What firmware do I need and comp software version to run the new AI. When I upgrade, do I need to go in order of the updates or can I go straight to the version I need? Also a simple rundown of how to get these guys up and running. I could do it if I had the computer at the same time, but I suck at using the controller enterface. Thanks for any help.

Hi

what version firmware are you using right now? To find out switch the profiLux off and re boot it, watch the front screen during boot cycle it will tell you the version.

assuming you have a Plus II load this firmware, please make sure yo follow ALL onscreen instructions

http://www.aquariumcomputer.com/Syst...oad.php?did=91

Once done delete the software you are running and load this

http://www.aquariumcomputer.com/Syst...oad.php?did=86

You will lose all settings, but this takes you to the latest version.

A few quick Q's

1. can I program the illumination 1 and 2 channels on my computer, and then unplug it and put in the AI and select the special lamp using the interface on the controller? Thant way I don't have to do all the 0-100% stuff on the interface..
2. will it give me the option to have a 3rd channel for the Royal Blue to control like it does for the white and blue?

Hi

Yes you can program and then unplug from the PC and plug the lights in.

There is no third channel available at present, i am not even sure that Ai have a third channel. Things change rapidly in this hobby though

once you have gone to special lamps you have to tell them what you wish the lamps to do.

Go to illumination 1 and set your white schedule, then go to illumination 2 and set you blue schedule

Make sure also you set whether you have old or new style Ai in the special lamp function

it 's asking if it's old model so i clicked NO and saved. I guess that's it? it should react to that then but still it's full brightness. I see 40% brightness oncontroller display but not the AI lights it might be the connection problem then? I am using AI serial cable to connect to the Controller and it goes to the data plug in AI units.

Hi

As i said above Go to illumination 1 and illumination 2 in the profilux control menu on your pc software and set your schedules. By scedules I mean the times you wish the whits and blues to react to

i.e illumination 1 = 8am 0% 12pm 100% etc etc

Michael,

Yes I am not a native speaker but I think I mentioned above"it's been scheduled"
It's like
6:00 0%
8:00 25%
9:00 70%
11:00 100%
12:00 70%
1:00 35%
3:00 25%
4:00 0%

Illumination2
7:00 100%
3:00 15%
4:00 7%

I can read in the display but the AI lights don't react.
any idea what the problem might be?

Reboot the profilux, and the AI LED's. Just unplug the power of profilux, and then power, and data on the AI light. Reconnect then reboot. See if that helps...
