T5s over a Solana

,

I have been messing with the lighting in my Solana and haven't been able to get it just right - thinking about T5s now. I know UVL is putting out some 18" lights but I want more color options.. I also don't want to wait.. and I also don't know how good the Nova Extreme Pro is - and I'm pretty sure that's the only fixture that takes 18" bulbs, right?

So I've decided I can deal with a little overhang and go with a 24" light.

The ATI sun power 4 bulb sounds like a nice, affordable fixture. I could get the TEK 24"4 bulb for about $100 less, assuming I get the same bulbs for either... is it worth the extra money to get the ATI? Are the fans on the ATI loud?

Any opinions are welcome!

The ATI is well worth the extra cash. I used to have a 6 bulb sunpower over my solana and it was amazing for my SPS corals. I think you will be much happier with the ATI fixture.

Hey, thanks for the input. Do you think the 4 bulb would be enough? Just want SPS in the upper half of the tank.

4 bulbs is plenty if you keep the SPS in the mid to upper part of the tank if you use good bulbs. I agree with the ATI fixture

Yeah. Should be plenty. Anything that wasn't sps even on the sanded would fry with the 6 bulb.

Found this solano switched from Reefbrite to Sunbrite. Nice.
Looks like StarWar above.
