Corals
Ok so you might need to bear with me hear, still trying to get to grips with this...
So, I have a small tanks with a depth of 10 inches. On the bottom, there is around an inch of sand. Now, as I was handed this tank, everything is as standard, including the lighting. It needs a couple of new bulbs so I was thinking of upgrading them to bulbs capable of giving sufficient light to corals. Would corals survive in my tank and what would be the ideal lighting? Gracias! |

if you just want something simple to start with dark color mushrooms can live under just about any lighting.

Sounds like you need to do some research. Hobby can be rather expensive and I'm guessing that your tank is rather small with such a low depth. Greater volume makes for an 'easier' and more stable tank. Give us better details and we'll help out to get you on the right path. Mushrooms are nearly bullet proof and will reproduce like rabbits if you have the right conditions. Great coral to start with for a new beginner. Most corals are going to rely on lighting so your options are limited with standard aquarium fixtures found in the freshwater hobby.
