Which Food for Eel and Triggerfish and How Often

I have had my Snowflake Eel (~12") for two weeks and my Blue Chin Triggerfish (~5-6") for a week.

I've been feeding both frozen krill 2x daily.

Is this enough or too much?
What other foods can I try?

Thanks,
Jason

I'm out of town this week and my wife is taking care of the fish. She plans to buy food today.

Thx

A varied diet is best. Go to your local kroger and pick up 1 of everything fresh behind the seafood counter. The first time you do it, they look at you a little funny - 20+ years later, not so much.

I feed my eel (4' Undulated Moray) every couple 3 weeks - 2 or 3 large ocean fish fillets, the day before water changes. He has, however, gone as long as 6 months refusing food

I get fresh shrimp and baby scallops at the grocery store for my snowflake and trigger and feed 3x per week in small amounts. Sometimes I switch it up with some Rod's

What size tank and what do you have for skimmer? Just curious. I had a 180g which I fed 2x/day with no issues. Also had a huge skimmer!!

I hand fed (using an acrylic feeding stick) our snowflake pieces of fresh shrimp and scallops, and sometimes squid, like 1/2" square pieces at a time that I cut up from the grocery store. He would eat 2-3 times a week, like 2 pieces each time. As they get larger, they eat more at a time, but less often. There were days I would offer him food, and he had no interest in it, so the anemone got the food. Other days he was all over the tank going after the food I gave the fish. We enjoyed feeding him, and my kid's friends really enjoyed the spectacle!

Enjoy your eel, but make sure he can't get out. We plan to get another one since the one we had died 1/2 way into the overflow when he got stuck on the teeth.

I've had snowflakes and zebras for years. What i found is to feed as often as you determine they want. My zebra moray eats 2 to 3 shrimp every other day the snowflake just about every day. I also feed them live crayfish and fiddler crabs which i gut pack with nls pellet food since crayfish are lacking some nutrients. They love both

The snowflake is good about going back to his lair when he's through. That's usually after 2 or 3 krill.
