how do you attach your corals to your larger, live rocks?
i see these beautiful tanks with corals in every perceivable position for a lush effect. how do you attach your corals to your live rock? are those corals placed even on the curved edges? are they placed there permanently? i'm constantly changing positions of my corals and would like to find a way that i can attach them to my large pieces but want to be able to move them if they're not doing well.

I use Crazy Glue Gel and D-D Aquascape 2-part putty, but you can't move the corals once you use the putty. You could snap them off after using the crazy glue, but I don't think that's a great idea.
Moving the corals around often is not a good idea, IMO. They need to settly and establish. the more you mess with them, the more stressed they will be. Find a good spot for them and let them grow. Cheers |

I've always used super glue gel. It holds them in place, but you can break the super glue bond if you need to move or frag a coral later.

Super glue gel, but eventually the corals will grow over the glue and attach themselves.

Is there a certain procedure for using the superglue gell or do you just paste it up and stick it?

If you put the glue on the coral outside the water, the glue will form a skin when you put it in the water. If you go this route, be sure to press the coral in place a little bit to break the skin on the glue as the coral is positioned. |

Rather than buying the aquascape putty you can also buy the plummer two part putty at lowes/Walmart/HD. I use the Loctite brand and it is purple but when mixed is white but soon gets purple In regards to superglue, I use that for fragging and use the Super Glue Gel.

Loctite SuperGlue GEL + Putty
I have successfully used the method of first attaching a piece of putty to the coral base using Super Gel (Loctite Brand) and then adding Super Glue Gel to the putty and attaching it to the live rock holding it for a few seconds. It really works like magic!!
