Water ?'s
I have a 5 stage RO/DI filter for my tank....I was wondering if I should run my RO/DI filter after my water softener on the house, or bypass the water softener and run it just through the RO/DI. (see below if this is confusing..it was for me after I read it! lol)
btw---I am on well water if that makes a diference? well-->water softener-->RO/DI-->tank or, well-->RO/DI-->tank |

Either will work for your tank. No reason to soften the water for your tank, but if you use the RO water to drink you might want it after the softener.

it really does not matter hook it up how ever is easier. all a water softener does is removes calcium and mag from drinking water and ro filter will do the same.

I would put it after the softener for the above reason. I find myself drinking my rodi quite a bit.

Assuming your total TDS in the water after the softener is lower (which it should be), it will save your more expensive DI resin from depleting. Salt for the softener rinse is cheaper than resin
