sro 1000 or sro 2000 skimmer

Setting up a 100 long reef. Should I go with the sro 1000 (rated to 125 gallons) or the sro 2000 (rated to 180 gallons)? Difference in price is around 80 dollars.

SRO 3000 if you can swing the bill. But to chose one of your choices i would hands down get the 2000. I've got the SRO XP2000 External and LOVE IT.

Great question. I've seen many people on RC running the XP/SRO 2000 on the 90-125 gallon range but few running the SRO 1000. Isn't the XP/SRO 2000 a bit too much for these setups, even taking into account the rule of thumb of getting an "oversized" skimmer?

not really, the display tank might be 90-125 but your not thinking about total water, also thats right were you want to size up IMO.
