if running gfo and sulfur denitrator, would you run a fuge?

Im running a brs gfo/carb reactor and will be receiving a koralin sulfur denitrator, would you continue to run a fuge? Im considering emptying my fuge, it has a 2" sandbed and grape and feather caluerpa growing and is imbedded in the sand and makes it hard to clean, and when i pull the stuff out is spikes my nitrates and phosphates in the tank as the roots go down to the bottom of the sandbed, im tired of the fuge and think im going to empty it and just go barebottom in it and fill it with live rock and some sofies like anthalia and xenia. I also have cheato in it as well.

I stopped running my fuge as a fuge once I starting using my sulfur denitrator and gfo reactor. It was a pain and it did nothing to reduce my nitrates. I use it as a hospital tank for corals at the moment and thought about adding a few more corals and possibly a fish. My nitrates are finally at zero thatnks to the denitrator.

Filling it with live rock should be fine. I might keep some of the algae, if it'll grow, to provide more territory for small animals, like mysid shrimp and various amphipods. Your idea seems fine, too, though.
