Starry Blenny not eating!!
So two days ago I got a starry blenny, I've been having some red hair algae problems and i knew a blenny would help, plus I've been wanting one because i hear they are full of personality. Since i got him he's been finding new holes in my live rock to call home. The problem is that for the past two days he's been hiding in the hole and refusing to come out. I'm just concerned that he's gonna starve to death! I'be been placing algae pellets right outside the hole for him, as well as some brine shrimp pieces, but its all untouched. Any suggestions of what i should do, and is this normal just because he still needs to get comfortable?? The only other inhabitants in my 36 gallon tank is a perc clown and hermits.

Sometimes they can be a bit timid. Have you noticed any mouth marks on the algae or glas as mine would go crazy when the lights went out. He'd also do this while lights were on but seemed to be more actively eating at night.

Don't stress over it. When he gets hungry he'll eat. Rarely will anything (animal, fish or human) starve to death if there is food available.

It has never been my experience that my algea blenny would eat prepared foods so you may be in the same situation. It is also unlikely there is enough microalgea in a 36gal for the blenny to forage on, let alone one that is newly set-up (judging by your post count) It has also been my experience that algea blennies do not eat HA.
The only thing I could suggest would be to tie or rubberband some nori to a small piece of LR and place it in the blennies area, hopefully the somewhat natural presentation will entice him to eating.
