clownfish feedin question-issues???

Hi, im new to the hobby, ia have a 30gal long tank, an aquaclear 110 with chaeto on it, a ton of rock, the system is running was running about a month and a half when I throw my fisrt fish (past week), a blue damsel and is eating and fine, just hiding on the rocks, yerserday morning I put a new clown fish to the tank, is swimming up and down on the glass and is not eating at all, i gave him flakes and spectrum. My question: is this normal?? , what can i do???

First off, you are really rushing adding your fish to the new system. Did you witness the clown eating from where you bought him? Is he captive bred? At any rate a fish not eating right off the bat isn't too concerning. I would try feeding him some frozen brine shrimp. He should grub on that. A lot of fish will not eat pellets or flake. You need to "train" them to eat that.

my clown did the same thing mine adjusted to his new home in a day

i agree with dalbery.. first thing when buying a fish at a store would be to ask them to feed the fish to make sure it does eat.. secondly many fish wont eat for the first couple days until it gets hungry. If pellets or flake dont work.. try frozen cyclopezee all fish love it

thanks for the info, i asked, they gave the fish spectrum, the fish is eating now, but the damsel is lost and no where found, i really dont know waht happened
