Longfin Fairy Wrasse harassing Firefish
I have had a firefish all alone in my 65 gallon for a few months and a few weeks ago I introduce a new fish to the tank and I have noticed some aggression from the fairy wrasse towards the firefish. It has been chasing and biting it and the firefish fins have started to get a little torn so I am not sure which fish to remove or how to deal with the situation.
Should I remove the aggressive fish or if I add another fish would the aggression be distributed among both fish ? If I remove the firefish would the fairy wrasse be aggressive towards any other fish I introduce ? 65 Gal tank with a lot of rock work and hiding places.

The small flasher Wrasse like Carpenters, etc are very timid and more suitable for Firefish. I had a Carpenter starve because he was too shy to compete with a pair of Clowns.
Now I have a Red Fin. He is a character, not really aggressive, but he has an in-your-face personality. He's always out, making sure he isn't missing out on some food. There a lot of type of Wrasse. Check the Web, Dr F&S, the Forms and as a last resort ask the guy at the LFS. Remember they want to sell fish. R |
