What's on sale. Doesn't matter to be honest, you'll have to dose Alk, Calc and Mg anyway.

I'm going to try the Seachem Aquavitro Salinity next....if I can find it. I've heard very good things about it. I have been using Oceanic for quite a while. It keeps your Calcium very high. Mine read about 500ppm while using it.

I think the most important thing is just stay consistent. If you can find a salt that you can get all the time and is in your price point, stick with it.

So thats why I have never seen it. I wish we had a real LFS in my area.
I agree with you also James. If I ever switch it will be to Seachem Salinity because I would like to have less Boron content. But I agree consistency is important.

i would much rather stick with ONE salt, despite that salt being under par with others, instead of buying different salt with every new sale.

Generally, yes. Each salt has it's only recipe including various buffers to keep certain parameters in check. If you switch salt mixes often, then you may inadvertently create problems if the buffers interact. Some of your parameters may go out of whack for a few WC's.
I switched from Instant Ocean to Red Sea a few months ago because I was having trouble getting Instant Ocean. I haven't noticed any issues.
