Smile Protein Skimmer or no skimmer on small tanks ie 20-30gal.

I have read opinions about no skimmers in small tanks, like mine (28g JbJ cube). Why would people leave a tank without one? What's the argument for not having one? What's the argument for having one?(pretty obvious answer to that one.)

Thank you for your attention.

what type of filtration do you use? this has to be determined first before you decide whether skimmer is needed or not. Sure there are people that argue skimmer is always a must regardless of the type of filtration.
My tank is 2 years old, my skimmer is only on 5% capacity, and I'm very happy with the tank.

Hey,
i have a 20 gallon tank with around 5 gallon sump volume. All i have to say is.... a skimmer is a must! I use carbon, GFO and a skimmer... (tunze 9002), skimmer is always pulling things out of the water even with weekly water changes. Plus my tank is sps dominant...

When I first started in the hobby, I was thinking of whether or not I should be getting a skimmer... and to this day... i do not regret the purchase...

Go for it!

You want your tank to stay the cleanest possible but u want to be able to feed ur tank without worries... thats how i see it... Not only is it a nutrient export, its even does a good job at airating your tank
