Next is a blue hippo tang/regal tang. He/she is around 4-5" long. I have raised this fella ever since he was about an 1 1/2". asking $30

What's the difference? Looking on line under both names and the same fish - Paracanthurus hepatus. Just curious .

There's no difference. People are just picky about the names they hear.

Hippo and Blue is common, Regal is rare to hear. So rare = Demand.

Aside from their location, Hawaii, Bali, Indo etc. They are all the same species, unless they're yellow belly blue tangs.

The one I saw at NSXNR6 was rich in black and the blues were very vivid. Very healthy looking Blue Hippo Regal Tang

fastrd400 - yes the purple tang is still available.... since he wandered into my home made trap the other day, i brought him over to a friends house to hold since it will be easier to catch him/her out of in the future.
