Question When can i turn on my protein skimmer after introducing coralline algae into my tank.

I just introduced some coralline algae scrapings into my 10 gallon nano reef tank today. when can i turn my new protein skimmer since i had to turn it off to add coralline algae scrapings into my tank?

turn it on now, i never switch my skimmer off, even at feeding time or to clean it, i just reduce the water level and remove the cup, i cant think of any reason why you need to leave it off.

The skimmer wont remove all of the free floating shavings, coralline algae will come eventually.

I turned it on this morning. Some guy who works part time at the pets store told me to keep it off for three days. the owner said i could torn it on right when i got home. thanks for your help...

I run mine 24/7 too. Now I have coralline growing inside my skimmer.

when i got some from a fellow reefer, i just leave the skimmer off a couple of days to let it get seeded and not skimmed out. i use a remora nano.
