You should post this in the "New to the Hobby" forum.

That being said, you added things way too quick.

Having said that, you said it was touch and go with the nem, don't you think that should have told you something was wrong?

How long did the tank cycle?

What are your params?

This OP has many problems: two of the most significant are: no quarantine period, and 2) way too many fish too soon. Whether the tank was cycled or not---questionable.

What happened: the sandbed crashed. Waste could not be processed. Probably there was an ammonia spike, taking out the fish.

What to do next: restart, totally. 8 weeks to cycle with 1 lb live rock and 1 lb sand per gallon. At 6th week, first fish into qt; at 8 weeks test tank. If good, insert cleanup crew. 2 weeks on, insert first small fish. Start next fish in qt; 4 weeks on, insert new fish into tank. Etc.

Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny, royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%.
