RO/DI Question ASAP!

I was looking to order filters for my RO unit and im wondering could I just order 2 sediment and one carbon filter and leave the DI out or will this not give me a 0 TDS read?

It really all depends on what is in your water coming in. I don't feel anyone can say with certainty that you will not get 0 TDS water, but there is a higher chance there will be some dissolved solids left in the water than there is of you getting a 0 reading. I say give it a shot. Adding a DI cartridge is easy after the fact anyway.

With out a DI stage I would be very comfortable saying you will not get 0 TDS out of any well or municipal water supply.

FWIW the local Culligan units here produce 0 TDS for a good while after they have been serviced. TDS in is around 200 I assume (this is a store a block from my home so I assume they are on the same water supply). My unit fluctuates about 1-2 before DI. Again, it all depends on what is actually in the water to begin with.

EDIT: Looks like you are in Iowa. As a reference, I'm in Ames
