recommendations for mp10 placement in 26 gallon bow tank

I bought an mp40 when they first came out and had nothing but problems back then.
Since some time has passed and they now appear to be on the 3rd revision
I have decided to purchase a mp10w es to give them another try. I will place it
in my smaller tank which is a 26 gallon bow. 2 feet wide and 2 feet tall. Naturally
it has a bow in the front. I bought a wireless unit thinking I will buy another
one day if I like it. Perhaps not for this tank but a 40g breeder or what not.

I am curious if anyone has any experience positioning a vortech pump in a bow tank
and where did they feel the best placement was? I really do not want to keep
putting my arm in the tank to figure this out so I am seeking some advice. I am
open to any side walls or the back. High, middle, or low. I have a mix of fine
to medium grained sand. My rock work, while not minimal, purposely has open
spaces between the 3 islands and i tried to go upwards with as little touching
the sand as possible. I know how nooks and crannies capture crap to rot and
cause trouble.

In the past I have used the mp40 in a large cube and placement was simple as
the dimensions were the same on every wall. I just picked a side that was ideal.

I have other nano sized in tank powerheads to supplement this mp10 as needed.
This tank only has a couple of fish and mostly SPS (acro, monti, porties, etc...).

Well enough rambling. I welcome your thoughts.

On my 39 bow, I keep mine on the left back panel about 2" in and 2" down from the trim. I don't have any dead spots. Does move the sand a little bit in the right front corner, but no problem.

thanks ritten. i am going to assume by left back panel you meant the back wall on the left
side? I am leaning towards the back wall myself as the bow front will just cause the water
to go to the left and right somewhat gracefully. I would have never guessed to go so high
and to a side though. It is worth a shot if it is working for you.

thank you for your reply.
