help with noise from tank to sump

a friend of mine is building a reef tank and his tank will be on the main floor and the sump in the basement. His question is how to minimize the noise from the tank to sump plumbing. i have no experience with this as in florida there are no basements. if you have any opinions on this it would be appreciated. thanks

They have. It's called a Herbie or Beananimal overflow. DEAD SILENT!

thanks guys, I didn't read the whole thread but skimmed thru it. this will silence the noise in the pipes as it run to the basement or is it just making the overflow silent where the tank is? I will email my friend this info.
