PurpleMonster's part of the Ocean
So I have recently joined up but have been a Reefer(addict) for years. I am currently in the process of finishing up my Stand for my current tank and tank to be in the near future. I wanted to post some pics and what not this way I can get some feed back when i have questions and what not. I dont have any pics of the tank right now, not recent ones anyways but i do have the pic of my stand
Tank: 36X30X18 Acrylic Was bought from a local used Sump: 36X15X17 Acrylic Had to modify it a bit to accomodate my internal Skimmer Fuge: 5G AGA Need to drill it so that i can drain it into the return area. Electronics: Flow: 2 Vortech MP10's, 1 Koralia Evo 1400 but im thinking of replacing the 2 MP10s with 2 Tunze 6055s and replacing the Evo with an MP20 or 40. Lighting: Dual 250W HQI Running off of a BlueWave 7 on LumenMax Elite, Dual 24" T5s Running off of an Advance Centium ballast Over driven... lets see how long the bulbs will last... lol Skimmer: Bubble Magus 150 Pro (upgrading to Bubble King mini 180 ) Reactors: 2 TLF reactors 1 for Carbon, and 1 for Rowaphos Dosing: Dual dosing pump from Reefdoser its one of those medical dosing pumps Controller: ReefKeeper Lite I was fortunate enough to aquire this from a fellow reefer free of charge! it had salt damage and being that i love tinkering with electronics i took a wack at fixing it! I was mostly successful but and even got the PC4 to have the ports working again but i could not get the controller to see it. I picked one up on here from a fellow reefer as well for a good price and Voila! after a little upgrading of the controller, SL1, and PC4 i now have a fully functioning RK! Now i just need my net module Thanks a ton! Scott!! The Stand, ok so this is the reason i decided to start a thread I built the stand a bit oversized so that it can later accomodate my tank upgrade. I am going to be going up to a 48X30X20 for my next tank so I made the stand 48X30X39. Its made out of 3/4" Oak but after a few post i decided that it might be a good idea to just add the 2X4's for extra support. I did not flush mount my RKL but only because the 2X4s are in the way. Hopefully i can move the tank onto the stand by the end of the weekend! so I can post some pics finally. Until then here is the stand: About a week ago: Yesterday: Thanks. oh and for Live Stock i have:
Coral: 90% SPS, 2 Ausie Acans, 2 Clams, a Colony of Duncans, Pink Tip Frogspawn ORA: Blue tip stag, Red Planet, Chips, Blue Voodoo, Pink mille, Roscoes, Valida, Oregon Tort, Hawkins, Red CAP Tyree: Purple Monster, Blue Rim CAP, Rainbow Encrusting monti Unknowns: Yellow Tort, Blue mille?, Pink mille?, some type of bonsai, Blue tort looking thing(lol), Thats pretty much it, the rest of the space is reserved for a purple Plasma, Pink Lemonade, and some sand realestate for a hand full of Ricordea, im just scared that they will have the same fate my last ricordea pack did... they did great for a while but slowly withered away and not sure why, I believe it was bc of the low nutrients but then again maybe just to make me feel better lol. Thanks |

Here is a more angled pic you get a better idea at the depth of the tank and a better view of the rockwork.

Thanks bro, i need to get some better pics once the all the dust storms stop. I do belive that the vortechs have a little to do with the sand storms as well specifically the one iclose to the back wall.... but who knows. IT does not bother me much but when i was trying to take the pics i wish the sand would settle lol.
i will def keep an eye on your tank too man love the way its coming out so far! |

Thanks for all the input! well I have been really thinking about it but have also been really thinking about going back to tunze.... just reall not sure if i want to do it yet. I guess i should really look into upgrading my pumps to ES.
I have a big chance to get a mini 200 right now actually for a wicked cheap price but i just didnt have that planned on my budget at the moment so really hessitant from using the credit card haha. I also agree you need more load to get that baby cranking!! haha. I mean this little Bubble Magus 150 is oversized a bit for my water volume but i feel like i want to upgrade now so when that 48X30X20 comes around the corner i am all set Thanks for the compliments! and your tank is impressive buddy |

Mine too!! you dont know how lucky i got with this one!!!!! i mean L-U-C-K-Y type of lucky lol. I am going to have to buy more fish, or really really get cracking on the feeding to keep this thing effecient! I mean my Trates, were undetectable already before this skimmer with the bubble magus but i can online imagine what 1700lhph will do vs 600lhph! lol.

some high qual carbon that i got from a good friend here, and Rowaphos that he got for me too.... he is always stocking up on goods so when ever i go over have a beer he is like dude try this haha, so i did and its been running the same carbon, and rowaphos for nearly 4months. Good stuff, does not appear to be turning white or any kind of signs of the carbon depleting.
