Snails climbing out of my tank

I have a good number of very small Cerinth snalls (about 50 1/8" - 1/4") that I picked up on ReefCleaners.org.

They seem to be happily living for a few weeks now, but I've installed a RO unit and about 5 days after the initial 50% water change with RODI water, the snails are climbing out of the tank. They're not going far, they're just climbing up onto the brim of my frameless tank.

There still seems to be a good amount of algae/ditrious, and I have a refugium.

Anybody have any ideas? What does this mean?

40 gal tank, about 2 months old, 50 lbs live rock, 60 lbs live sand, 10 lbs grung gravel, LOTS of small snails and hermits, a few ditrious eaters and NO Fish YET

from the sounds of it the are running. If you did a 50 % water change and then saw them all " Run For The Hills" chances are you shocked them. Even if the water you had in the DT was nasty dirty and the water you were putting in was clean you are going to shock them and anything else in the tank. You should go slow when doing any major changes in the tank.My certh snails only come out at night and really dont move fast the just clean the glass then go away when the lights come on.
