Canopy Fan -Suck in or Blow out?

Just curious when installing a canopy fan is it better to have the fan blow hot air out or blow ambient temperature in. Ultimately i am sure it would be most beneficial to have both but if you only have one fan what would be the best for cooling tank.

I would set it to blow in with an opening on the other end to get the air to flow across.

I would have to agree. If you had the fan set to blowing warm and above all humid air out of your canopy, you would be changing fans every few months. Evaporating salt water would destroy the fan in short order! I have two 140mm fans blowing into my canopy and vents along the back to allow the hot air to escape. Hope this helps..

Makes sense. Thanks guys. Never thought of it harming the fans while sucking out.

When the water in your tank evaporates it leaves the salt behind.

Mine blows in and has vents above the canopy to let the warm air escape
