That little bit of water
I just water tested my plumbing on my 180G and after siphoning out as much as I possibly could before the saltwater goes in, there is that little 1/4" of tap water laying at the bottom of the tank/sump. I was wondering if anyone knew of any tricks on how to get the rest of that out of there.
The only thing I could think of is getting one of those shammys and just continuously soak and ring out again and again or just waiting a week or two and letting it evaporate. I didn't want to wait that long though. Anyone have anything better? |

Haha! Nice! Yeah, I thought so. Thanks for the replies. I'll go with both and a Brute next to the tank. I know they have some at my LC(ar)S.

A good way to get that last bit of water out of the tank and sump is using a shopvac.

I just used a towel and squeezed the water into a bucket. It took a while, but faster than using a fan and evaporation.

I would not worry about a little bit of tap water in the tank when starting up. Before I had an RO unit I would fill and cycle my tanks with tap water. Then after cycling would do a large 50% water change with RO. I never had any issues with this so a little wont hurt.
