international shipping

Has any one tried/succeeded international shipping of live stock from one individual to another? FedX, airline, customs, will it work & is it worth trying?

I'm sure there is, I just don't know the individuals at either end. If you do & want to share that would be great. I do know one person in Mexico that has offered to send me some thing, & I was wondering how or if it could be done?

There are international treaties that protect certain species from this sort of thing. I can't speak for Mexico, but here in Canada you need a CITES permit (http://www.cites.org/) in order to import from the US. Some kinds of corals, like softies and *obviously* aquacultured corals are not restricted but just about any kind of wild stony coral is.
