Black Tang Question
I was wondering if anyone knew if there are two kinds of black tangs, one looking similar to the yellow tank in structure and one with a longer nose. Are they all usually having a long nose or are there two species within the black tangs?
Thanks, Kent |

Scopas tangs have a shorter nose but otherwise can look a LOT like a black tang.
Also they crossbreed together, so you'll see a scopas/black tang hybrid that normally doesnt have the long nose like the black tangs do. I've seen both in real life, the genuine black tang and the scopas/black hybrid, both are great looking fish imo. I'd take either one if that's what I was looking for in my tank. |

Thank you.....I got the sense that what I had seen that did not have the long nose might be a hybrid since all the other black tangs I have seen have a longer nose.
