HELP Leaking Bulkheads!!

Ok so it is after 3am, i started to change out my sump at 11pm and well, now 2 of my bulkheads are leaking. I had not had a problem with any leaks in the past so i must have tweeked them when moving the plumbing to the new sump. Everything is PVC so i cannot just reseat the bulkheads. I drained the overflow portion of the tank, leaking too bad to leave them full. What are the chances i could silicone the bottom to stop the leak, and have it last? Or should i replumb the system? Right now i have no sump running, just moved the protein skimmer to HOB mode and running 4 750gph korilas. Hope everything makes it till morning so i can go purchase what is needed to stop the leaks. Cannot get bulkheads anywhere in my area, and with the holliday monday looks like the soonest for replacments. Any ideas?

Try drying both the overflow and bulkhead seal and putting on a little plumber grease (100% silicone) and reseat them. That should work for you. You can get the 100% silicone plumbers grease from lowes or HD.

I've sealed with silicone before in an emergency. It's messy and it doesn't look nice, but it will buy you time.

I did this with a 65 gallon SPS tank about a month ago. Bought me enough time to make the transfer to my 180 on the weekend.

ok so after 24 hrs of messing with it, loose, tight, in-between, got one to quit, and the other one well siliconed the **** out of it, so now i have circulation no leaks, and time to get the new ones in. The seals, where the problem, too hard and thin, compared to the ones not leaking. One negative, all fish have spots....STRESS!! hopefully they recover.....
