Anyone own a neptune controller 3?

I have a good chance of getting a AquaController III with 3 probes PH' Temp and ORP with power bar but i was wondering are they any good and how easy are they to program? and how often do you need to replace the probes?

TIA

Sid

They are easy wonderful controllers. Have had one for years.

They are easy to program, but not idiot proof. Nothing implied there except that you have to pay attention, have to test your programming, and have to do a little research on some topics... such as precedence of execution.

Probe replacement frequency depends on the probe. Generally speaking that issue is the same for all brands of controllers... replacement frequency is a function of probe technology, not controller brand.

pH probes are recommended for replacement every year. But in the right conditions (in salt water) I believe as much as 2-3 years is possible. Temp probes are forever. And orb I've never used.

You mentioned a Powerbar. Those came out with the Apex. I don't even know if they work with AC III's, which are designed to work with DC8's and DC4's. Something to research before you purchase.
