rattle comming from vortech
I bought a vortech 40 used and i've had it up for 3+ weeks. the humming is normal but yesterday i started to get a rattleing sound. i adjusted the speed and got it to stop and now its back. anyone else had this happen? suggestions?

Contact their CS by phone they will walk you through it or tell you what part nedds replacing. They have done that with me and sent the replacement that day. got it the next day(i'm only one state away).

You can also go to their web site (Eco-tech Marine I think). They have a number of videos that may help you locate and fix the problem.

did you try to reseat the wetside and dryside? its possible the dry side has slipped slightly.

Did you properly adjust the spacer on the dry side?

I've tried moving it a little and its a different sound than when they dont line up. I have adjusted the thickness guide. it sounds like someting on the dry side is loose. I'll call CS and see what they have to say.

Sounds like a spacer issue to me. I would double check that first. CS is very helpful, don't hesitate to give them a call.

I checked the spacing and it's correct I went up a thickness and down one as well and the rattle continues.
When I ramp it up to full speed it stops for a while and then returns |

TAke the wet side off, and turn on the dry side, if it doesnt make the noise, then its your wetside.. Take the wetside apart and clean it.
