OT (sorta): Indoor Palm Tree Care

I was looking at some indoor palms to keep near the fish tank more specifically the Majesty Palm, Arcea Palm and Kentia Palm. There is a ton of information in regards to care for these three palms while the Areca and Kentia seem a little less demanding for light and care, the Majesty seems to require a little more light.

My question now is, will the light emitted from the tank supply enough "sunlight" for these palms? I run 6 hour light cycles with 5 hours of actual halide lighting. Will the spectrum of light be enough to care for the palms? There is a window within 4' of where I plan to place the palm but I wanted to know if the tank will also help on those days I keep the blinds closed.

I know there are many other factors to consider for care but just wanted to basically know if the light will provide the right spectrum for the palms.

My tank does not have a canopy so I do have quite a bit of light that is spread beyond the tank. Any info may help also any recommendations for other foliage. Trying to spruce up the "fish area" Thanks in advance!

I would think it would be enough, if you also give it some natural sunlight here and there. I had a huge palm between my living room and dinning room and the windows on either side of it were about 12 to 15 feet away. The palm did good until it got some kind of fungus and died.

I don't have a palm but I've been keeping a peace lily next to the tank for 2 years. It blooms once every 6 months. Closest window is pretty far away. Running T5's only in a canopy. The blinds are closed alot too.

Thanks for the input fellas. I have a Peace Lilly I should actually repot. Thing is getting pretty big. Already has 10 new sprouts hmmm now to decide which palm to go with. I'll see what's available in these parts.
