Newbie setting up first SW tank
Hey,
Another noob here who is getting ready to setup my first saltwater tank. Right now got a 55 gal that is drilled and ready to go with a custom 20 l sump with a mag 9.5 for a return pump. Ordered 80 lbs of dead rock from BRS and 10 lbs of rubble for the sump. Gonna start out as a fowlr but gonna move to add corals soon after. I have been looking at the tropic eden reeflakes as substrate for my tank, anyone know how much I would need to get the 1/2" to 1" deep bed? and do y'all think that is a good depth or should I shoot for 1" to 1.5"? Thanks for any advice and I look forward to reading more of the great topics here on RC!! |

To Reef Central a 1" sandbed would be a good starting size. I have never heard of that brand sand so I can't comment on that. here is a good calculator to figure out how much sand you need for what depth you want. http://www.reefcentral.com/index.php...bed-calculator
