New background

Hey guys,
after having seen many beautiful tanks (with black backgrounds) on this forum, i have been wanting to change my background colour to black as well (it's blue at the moment). The problem being, my tank is running already, with no possible access to the back of the tank. Does anyone know of a way to make it black, I thought of a pexiglass sheet sprayed black with krylon fusion, but i don't know whether that would work...
Thanks!

This does not work for me. Cant you just slide out the old background and replace it with a new one.

You could try a piece of plastic that slides into the tank. I would get black plastic for this instead of painting the plastic.

Yeah, I dont think you'll find it at Lowes or HD. I would find a place that deals exclusively with plastic. A 1/8 in piece would bend and be easier to get into the tank.

If you slide a sheet of plastic into the back of a running tank, you're going to create a small crevice with little or no flow at all where organics can get trapped, no matter how skillfully you position it.

I'd never do this in my tank.

I think you are stuck with having to scrape the paint off the back glass and sliding the plexi glass back there.

On pages 531-533 in The Reef Aquarium vol. 3 removable backdrops and internal backdrops and there uses are discussed in detail.

You either really love your walls or you have no sense of aesthetics. Unless its a peninsula backgrounds are mandatory.

And there's also something called humor which would make your sarcasm a bit more worthwhile.
