OM 4 way running very hot

Almost to hot to leave my hande on the motor. Is this normal? It is turning the 1RPM and everything seems to be alternating like usual and is pushing tons of water still. I have 4300gph going thru it?

I can touch it, leave my hand there for 10 sec or so, but by then my hand is Very Hot...about needing to move.

I just did a quick check on the OM site, Paul from OM says its normal.
"All synchronous motors run hot it is quite normal" -Paul

Nice Cobra in your avatar. I have a 90 GT. By the size of the headers and the chassis flex, yours looks to be in the 10 or 11's.

I was also told it was very normal when I got it. I have been running it for 8 months now, no issue.

Thanks for the info and car compliment.

It was a 90 and it was making like 670rwhp. It ran 10.00000's best that yr at like 137mph. It kept falling on its face at about 5800-6000rpm's. Couldnt figure it out all season until I took the supercharger off and discovered a $10 Oring was killing the top end. The seal on the bypass valve was Blown off....so it was letting some air by at high RPM's & thus messing up the mass air meter reading.

Car should have been mid to hgh 9's.

As for the pic, that was my seasons last dich effort for a 9 sec pass. However i usually had and air bag in the back pass side to stiffen the axle so it didn't twist so bad. I took it out in attempt to put an anti roll bar in, but it got late in the yr and weather got nice and I didn't have either on the car.

So it made for a sweet picture. After the camera guy showed me it...I put the car on the trailer. Thats not good for a frame or winshield or top etc.....
