Energy Bar 8 Just stopped working - yikes!

My EB8 seems to be going haywire.

The status light on the EB8 is solid green but there is no power coming out any of the outlets. The EB8 is receiving power because the status light is green and the controller is getting it's power from the EB8 via USB cable.

The Apex controller status light is also green and I can access the Apex status screen from my PC without issue so I know the controller is working.

I have powered down everything for 10 minutes and powered back up but no luck.

I've been trying to reach NeptuneSys support over the phone but I get alot of busy signals for the past hour. Now I'm just getting their voice mail. HELP!!!!

Is the EB8 circuit breaker popped (the white button)? If so, press to reset it.

Hi Reefaholic (great tag name!), Thanks for the suggestion. It wasn't the circuit breaker/white button. I checked and rechecked that. After I made the first post, I went over and checked the display console where I noticed that the software was unresponsive. It was working - but seemed to take several seconds to respond and when it did, sometimes some of the prior screen characters would remain overlapped in with the new screen. Either that or the screen would stay blank for a minute or two and then it would display the next screen. Given that hint that there may indeed be a problem in the controller/software and that a power off for a minute followed by a power back on with no improvement, I decided to re-initialize All (like I did last time things were haywire). As soon as I did that, the problem went away and the display interface became responsive again. So it was a long night but at least all the outlets are reprogrammed again and things are working. That sure beats having to replace the EB8!

Thanks again for your suggestion. It's good to know someone is out there!

This sounds alot like a situation I had with corrupt/invalid code in one of my outlets. I was entering some test code, it stalled on the update, and when I refreshed the page the code got corrupted. The hard part was fixing it because the webpage and display would reset every couple of seconds. I eventually was able to delete the affected outlet after multiple attempts, luckily this was a virtual outlet.

You can do it from the Display or from the 'Misc Setup' web page. Just remember, initialize all means just what it says. Make sure you have a backup of your program before you do this or you'll be re-entering everything. While this did the trick for Chris, I'm not sure it was the only thing that would have worked. Use the initialize with caution.
