Worthwhile info concerning ro/di for topoff
Hello all, just gotta keep reading-learning something everyday. Have always been adding buffer to my ro/di water to match that of the DT. Have learned that ro/di has no buffering capacity and will not change the ph of your maintank!! Just took it as a given that you match ph to that of the DT.RO/DI water cannot be measured accurately for various reasons{Bertoni and Randy). So basically adding RO/DI straight to the tank does not change your ph. This info was nice to know and thought it may help new hobbyists(including me) who were adjusting the PH as I have. Helps save on the ph test kits, not to mention the time wasted. Thought this was worth posting. Again thanks to RC.

You match your water change water. Having them (DT and WC water) close in alkalinity, salinity, pH and temp helps minimize the stress to the organisms in your tank and helps maintain consistent parameters.

Get a cheep controller with a PH probe. Best thing I have invested in next to the refractor
