Question Pro Bio pellets or de nitrate for Vertex Universal Media Reactor?

I'm getting a Vertex Universal Media Reactor and I can't decide on which media to use in it.

The de nitrate acts the same as live rock and a deep sand bed, providing a home for aerobic and anaerobic denitrifying bacteria.

Pro Bio Pellets Provide a food source to sustain a large population of beneficial Bacteria.

I was thinking of just starting with the de nitrate since it's cheaper. The only problem is choosing a pump to use with the reactor and knowing how to adjust flow to below 50 gallons. I want to use a maxijet 1200.

I was also thinking of initially adding seachem stability. But I'm not sure if it actually works. It has to be better than nutrafin Cycle.
