Another SRO question

Aquacaves website says the SRO 3000ext is rated for UP TO 400 gallons. What is the bioload rating for that?? Up to 400 lightly stocked or heavy or ???.Im going to have 350 gallons total water volume with a 225 gallon dt sps dominated with a medium bio. Could i get by with the 3000ext or bump it up to the 5000ext??

I would say that's for a fish only tank. I have the SRO int on my 210 and I would be inclined to say it might be a little too big but it still works great. Reef Specialty rates the 300 int skimmer up to a 300 gallon, which I would say is just about right. It rates the 200 ext up to 250 or 200 heavy. I think you would be happy with the 300 int or ext.

Any other opinions? Im guessing the up to 400 gallon will be with a heavy bioload.Im assuming here and you know what that means.......... So anyone with personal use of these skimmers please chime in!

I am running a SRO-5000sss on a 240 that is pretty heavily stocked. I am guessing 280 total volume. The skimmer works like a champ. I decided that going a little larger was not going to be a problem.
