Clam Spawning! Water Cloudy, Water Change???

Just like the title says. My clam is spawning as we speak and my water is cloudy. Do i need to do a water change or just let everything clear on its own?
Thanks

do a water change it may overwhelm your system and end up with an amonia spike.

I would do a water change, run fresh carbon, and run the skimmer a bit wetter.

How are things in the tank? Wondering if this is a good spawn, or a stress related spawn.

Everything in the tank is fine. Nothing has changed, very stable. How long do they usually spawn for?

Well come to think of it, I did harvest most of my chaeto today and added new macro algae. This clam has been through 2 tanks and 2 moves. I find it hard to believe that removing and and adding algae would stress it out but maybe it did. What do ya'll think?

I've had two large flower anemones spawn several times in the sump of my ten over ten setup. First time I came home and the water was a milky white mess. Since I didn't have replacement water or a skimmer I just had to let it go. The next day the water was clear and the LPS looked fantastic.

IMHO spawn is free enhanced coral food. I wouldn't do anything unless there's clear evidence of stress/pollution in the tank.

I would have to agree with Agu, as long as it was a spawn because of a natural occurance it will be fine and its free food for your inhabitants. However if your clam did spawn from some outside factor, I would def. check your parameters once more to make sure nothing has changed or something is not out of wack. I had a clam spawn on me about a year ago and unfortunately it was due to a heat spike and two days later it was dead. The nicest clam I have ever owned and I still have his shell to remind me to always check my parameters and temp!

Well just to be safe I did a 20% water change last night. Hopefully everything is ok, I'll check it when I get home from work today.

Well, it's happening again. My clam is spawning but unfortunately I don't have any water for a water change( it won't be ready till tomorrow). So I am just gonna let it go for the time being. I really don't think it's stress related but maybe it is. All of my params are in check. The only thing I changed since this started happening was i added 2 actinic T5'sand I run them 2 hours before my halides come on and 1 after they go off. I did just start MB7 but the spawning happened before then also. Do you think the change in light would cause a stress spawn?

Yah doing large water changes really help. My 30lb squamosa spawned before and I was actually syphoning it as it was shooting out of the clam.
