Suggestions for my 75 gal FOWLR?

Is my setup right?? I have a 75 gal with sump inside sump i have a reef octupus skimmer the new ones also a 4'' filter sock, live rock and chaeto with a 6500K light bulb which is turned on for 10 hours everyday... problem is my sump is getting this type of brown algae on the skimmer, sump walls and rocks?? my tank is young it has almost 5 months!

Is there anything you guys can suggest??

i was thinking of bio pellets but if i install BP on my tank should I take out the chaeto and light bulb??

I need some help? thank you

I wouldn't take out the chaeto. Its all about making competition for nutrients difficult for the nuisance algae. I'd do GFO before biopellets though I use chaeto, GFO and biopellets in combination.

Granulated
Ferric
Oxide

Basically, a phosphate removing media, Phosban is a brand name of it.

I have live rock in 2 of my sumps.

OT -- Was in Fajardo about 11 months ago, loved it there.

I can't speak about the pellets -- never used them. I just keep up with my water changes and run GFO, and don't have to worry about phosphates and nitrates.

OT = Off Topic. We stayed at the Farjrod Inn,

Get the high capacity GFO at bulkreefsupply.com They have reactors too.

5 gallons a week should be good for water changes if everything else is working.

I'd go BP just because its less maintenance. You only change them out once or twice a year.
