Bubble Magus 3.5 Cone Skimmer Break-In

Hi guys:

Just fired up my new CAD Lights 39G AIO today.

I raised the height of my skimmer in the rear sump 4" so the collection cone is above the top of the tank. Here is the question: With the skimmer dialed all the way down, it is still overflowing microbubbles into the collection cup. I have removed the collection cup drain hose so it drains back into the sump.

Do these things traditionally take a long time for break-in?

Or should I raise is a couple more inches, and have the skimmer sticking a 1/3rd out of the rear sump?

Any input is appreciated.

Okay, this is very old. But... I have a question if anyone wants to answer...

I've been wanting to get the SWC skimmer. However, my dimensions are off by a little in my custom AIO back chambers. Website says SWC 120 is 6" by 7.25"

However, I looked up the back chamber dimensions for CAD AIO back chamber and its 5"?

Any help is appreciated.

It looks way too deep. Try raising it a few more inches.

I would take it up about another 1" to 1 1/2" that should really help it out.
