Question Apex display blank and base module stays off

Last night I successfully connected my new Apex to the Internet. I successfully updated the firmware (4.04BC-10) and web pages. I also successfully updated the firmware for the display module, two EB-8s, and PM-2 module.

However, this morning when I woke up, the base module has no light, the display module is blank, the two EB-8s have blinking green lights, and the PM-2 has a blinking orange light. I'm not able to access the Apex via Internet, and have tried disconnecting and reconnecting each component with no change in status.

Reading the stickied manual, it's a possibility that my firmware is corrupted, but it's strange that everything was working so well last night during all my installations. Right now I have everything disconnected and I'm out of ideas. Any thoughts?

I had the same issue and sent mine into Neptune yesterday for replacement. It seems like a lot of the units are doing this lately. Strange.

Oh boo, looks like my unit needs servicing. Will send them an email tonight.

Hopefully it's a manufacturer defect and not a mistake I made with firmware upgrades or something. I'd hate for them to fix the problem, only for me to mess it up again later!

If you think it's firmware then you can try again but usually they are pretty good at determining the issue.

By any chance, when you configured your controller for web access, did you leave the port at 80? Do you have a firewall running?

I probably left the port at 80 (didn't change anything), and didn't disable the firewall.

Try leaving the unit totally unpowered for 12 hours, then powering it up.

Thanks for your help, everyone. I emailed Curt and he promptly replied. I sent the base unit in and hopefully it'll get fixed soon. Will keep everyone updated, and happy holidays!

Mine is having the same issue as well, but when I plug it in I noticed there is a black LCD background lit, but when I remove the Aquabus it's totally blank.

I barely got done configuring it at my desk and moved it to my tank, with all the excitement.

Will give Curt a call next week, Happy Holidays everyone!
